One of my absolute favorite places.

The "official" halfway mark... SAD DAYS!

Morning
We must have been tired because we slept in until after 9AM which is unheard of for the two of us. We got dressed and made our way to the buffet to get the usual made to order omelet. We met a Maitre' D of Chops who confirmed our Galley Tour and Brunch for the last sea day and then we were on our way off the ship.

The NCL Getaway and MSC Armonia were also in port today so with our RC mega ship and a NCL mega ship, that meant over 10K passengers were on shore that day. We made the trek down the 1/2 mile long pier with no issues and began looking for the free Wifi at the Starbucks we found in March. Unfortunately, we were late to the party and there were no seats. We tried to find other Wifi but opted to get our massages early in case it got crowded.

As we got off we saw TONS of eggs being delivered. We learned the following day that these were from the Freedom of the Seas who had been in port the day before. We needed eggs and they had extras. Kinda neat! We also learned that Royal does not restock their food with locals while in port, unlike Carnival

There she is... The beauty!

I am in LOVE with this ship!

The view from the pier... Absolutely GORGEOUS!

The entrance to the Costa Maya terminal area.

We found this Mayan Healing Spa in March when we sailed on the NCL Pearl. It is right at the port terminal area and offers some of the best spa offerings and prices we have seen anywhere in the Caribbean. This time we got the deluxe Couples Massage and it was PERFECT. These massage therapists really knew where we needed the pressure and laid it on thick. The sounds of the crashing waves made the experience even better. Overall it was the best experience we had as of yet on the cruise and we loved any minute of it.

The Mayan Healing Spa prices. VERY GOOD PRICES compared to the ship or on land.

It's time... let the rub down begin!

A view of the massaging area.

They also offered a "hammock" massage which I think I will try next time.
30 Minutes for $20... not a bad price!

We left a generous tip and made our way to the main restaurant in the port area and sat down for some margaritas. This restaurant was packed as it was lunch time with the said 10K passengers but service was fairly quick and the drinks were strong and priced just right.

This is another area offered at the port and is part of the "Port Pass" that is available via most cruise line shore excursions or at the port itself. We will be trying this out on our upcoming Breakaway cruise.

The margaritas were perfect and very low priced at only $7.

The port also offers dolphin encounters and swim right at the port.

Some of the performers at the restaurant.

We enjoyed our margaritas and did a little shopping before making our way back to the ship. The terminal area is so pretty and has made its way to the top of our favorite port lists.

The Norwegian Getaway... LET'S BOOK IT ALREADY!

We love the Liberty!

Our balcony (the circle window) on deck 9. We LOVED it!

A view from the half mile pier.

Afternoon
We changed into our swimsuits and then made our way to the Windjammer for a light lunch. The Windjammer featured a German theme buffet and was CROWDED beyond belief at 1PM when we got back on board. Afterwards, I ran back up to the waterslide area on Deck 13 to try to ride the Tidal Wave slide. Since Chris couldn't ride the slides due to his ankle I figured I could ride alone but unfortunately you HAVE to ride with 2 people. While I was waiting to find a solo kid to ride with, another passenger threw up on the slide so they had to close it down. YUCK... I took my cue and found my old spot in the Solarium Hot Tub where we spent the majority of the afternoon.

We retrieved to our balcony to watch the sailaway and expected to see pier runners with so many people in port but both Mega Ships pulled out shortly after 5PM and we didn't see any runners.

Time for Sabor... We couldn't wait!

Smooth as glass seas as we head towards Cozumel.

Evening
We got ready for dinner and then went to an early show of a set of comedians in the Main Theater. We saw these 2 brothers board the ship as we were getting on in Roatan and they seemed funny... for the first 10 minutes then they got pretty lame. We left early to make our dinner reservation at Sabor.

We saw the NCL Getaway from the Promenade deck.

I am not sure what I was expecting from Sabor but once again Royal Caribbean completely blew us away with this specialty restaurant. The food was incredibly flavorful and the Jalapeno Shrimp was the best I have EVER had. The service was phenomenal and we even got to eat right beside a table of officers. It was a unique experience and we heard all kinds of stories. They even made an elder flower margarita for my handsome husband Chris even though it was not on the menu. As we left our waiter offered us a 20% discount if we came back the following night, which was the 2nd formal night AND they would offer us the main Sabor menu as well as lobster. We were very intrigued by the offer. We thought the guacamole and main entree were amazing and then came the sample dessert platter... WOW! Way to go Royal Caribbean! The entire meal was spectacular. TIP- Sabor is $30 for dinner and offers a Margarita making lunch class for $27. We noticed in the Galveston terminal Royal was offering a special for Giovanni's and Sabor for $30 TOTAL for both if you went there on Night #1 and Night #2.

Cheers!

I ordered the Grand Sabor and it was made right in front of me.

They were HUGE!

The table of officers beside us. When you eavesdrop you learn all kinds of things.

Our evening entertainment consisted of more Caymus and time spent at Vintages with "Indian Frasier". We finished our bottle and enjoyed a few glasses and great conversation with this bartender before going out on the promenade for the 70s Disco Party.

Our favorite! A must try for any wine lovers.

Hello 70's Disco Party!

The Disco Party was a lot of fun and we enjoyed it. Jeffrey, the Cruise Director, was not as visible as Carnival Cruise Directors but it was still a lot of fun.

Jeffrey, the Cruise Director, is the 4th from the left. He did not do as much as other CDs we have had but we still enjoyed him.

Chris even caught a Glow Stick ring.

And Alex the Lion was grooving with us as well.

Macho Macho man.

After the Disco Party we enjoyed more discussion at Vintages before calling it a night. We made our way back to our balcony to enjoy the wake and the calmness of the seas before going to bed.

The Getaway trailing us to Cozumel.

It was a GREAT and relaxing day at Costa Maya and we are now spoiled by the Mayan Healing Spa and are counting down the days until we can come back.

Be sure to check back for the daily posts of our trip. Each day we will include more tips and tricks about the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas.

Once again, thank you so much for following along!

Next up... Not our 1st Rodeo at COZUMEL!
