Morning
Happy Anniversary to us! Today marks THIRTEEN YEARS since Chris and I said "I do" in Norman, OK. Some days it seems like just yesterday and others it feels like eternity. We have survived our good days and our bad days and through it all we have learned to love each other more and more. It is hard to remember what life was like before children and especially before Chris. I love you Chris Davis and thank you for making ME Mrs. Davis now 13 years ago!
Cheers to 13 MORE years!

It seems like only yesterday!

Happy Anniversary Chris Davis!

We woke up around 9AM. It was a very long night and neither of us got very much sleep. The bed was SO HARD. Like as hard as sleep on a box or palette. INSIDERS INFO- We learned that Royal Caribbean is replacing all of the mattresses on Liberty of the Seas this Spring. They replace from the lowest deck and move up so our deck (Deck 2) was replaced 2 weeks prior to us embarking, so this mattress was fresh out of the box and only been slept on a handful of times. This happened to us on the Navigator of the Seas in 2014 and that trip was AWFUL for sleeping. This was proving to be much of the same song… second verse! In fact, the bed was so hard I moved to the TINY couch to try to get some sleep.

A new magnet system Royal Caribbean is using to show if you are in the room or out having fun!

This is a MONDAY I actually like!

Once we got ready for the day we made our way to the Windjammer Café for breakfast. When we arrived around 9:30AM it was PACKED with people and there was not anywhere to sit. In fact, Royal was making announcements asking people to vacate their eating area once they finished eating. It was a typical SEA DAY mad house but it did not bother us too much, we are used to it!

The SplashAway Bay was already packed and full of kids at 10AM.

After breakfast we went to the Solarium and, oddly enough, we found 2 chairs IN THE SHADE. We set up camp there and made our way to the Solarium Hot Tub. TIP- The Liberty has 2 VERY LARGE hot tubs in the Solarium on either side of the ships. These are for guests 16+ ONLY and can hold 10-15 people. They fade in and out of the shade but are absolutely perfect in our opinion. We spent over 3 hours and many drinks in the hot tub before making our way to lunch in the Main Dining Room.

This is easily the best Hot Tub we have found on ANY ship!

Afternoon
Royal Caribbean offers a sit-down lunch in the Main Dining Room on sea days which offers many  'made to order ' options as well as a massive “Tutti Salad Bar”. I love this lunch option as it is usually a little less crowded than the Windjammer Buffet and the food is better in my opinion. We met some new friends and talked to them a bit while we enjoyed our lunch.

I love this Tutti Salad Bar so much!
AND I love how the crew members are so much FUN and enjoy their jobs!

After lunch we decided to go back to the room and take a nap... remember, we are 2 VERY TIRED TEACHERS! We dozed off for a little while before heading to Studio B on Deck 3 for the International Ice Show. TRICK- Royal Caribbean has an actual ice rink in the middle of their ships on Voyager and above class ships. This is the home to the Ice Show and also offers guests the opportunity to skate themselves various times throughout the cruise. Each voyage only performs the International Ice Show 4 times during the duration of the cruise and often times this includes a Sea Day performance. We have seen this show many times but it was the least crowded during the very FIRST performance, which in our case was on Sea Day #1 at 2:30PM. There were even empty seats!

An Elvis impersonator for the Vegas section of the show!
A true look alike with the big belly and all!

We love this show!
If you have never seen it, be sure to block out an hour to watch it! It is well worth it!

The Ice Show was amazing and very impressive, as usual, and we enjoyed it very much. Afterwards we made our way to the SQUEEZE bar on Deck 11. We sat there talking, enjoying cocktails and a cool breeze before we got ready for dinner and our first formal night aboard the Liberty of the Seas.

We loved it!

Well hello again Carnival Vista!
They were heading to Montego Bay, Jamaica!

Evening
Our evening was filled with lots of fun, laughter and drinks with friends. We enjoyed our formal dinner in the Main Dining Room with Roy and once again the service was top notch. We were in and out of the MDR on a formal night in 1 hour and 20 minutes. That is practically UNHEARD of on ANY CRUISE LINE! The food was exceptionally good and we enjoyed spending our anniversary dinner just talking and reminiscing about our 13 years together.

After dinner we went to Vintages and enjoyed a few after dinner wine flights before The Captain’s Reception began on the Royal Promenade. TRICK- Most Royal Caribbean ships offer this on the first formal night. It is located on the Royal Promenade and they hand out FREE champagne and non-alcoholic drinks for about 2 hours. We got to meet the Captain, who was also our Captain on the Serenade in 2015, as well.

Part of the Captain's Reception is the LIVE music from the Royal Caribbean band!
They were fantastic!

Happy Anniversary from the Liberty of the Seas

After the reception we went back outside to enjoy a gorgeous sunset on the Caribbean Sea. TIP- This is one of our favorite things to do on a cruise and I highly recommend you take at least one night to slow down and enjoy God’s masterpiece.

Sunset #1 of the cruise was not perfect but it certainly did not disappoint!

We met up with Julie and Nate for the late show of the Las Vegas Tenors in the Platinum Theater. This group of male singers was very good and I would pay money in Vegas to see them.

The Las Vegas Tenors... check them out if you get the chance!

After the main show we made our way up to Olive and Twist on Deck 14 to enjoy Motown Dancing and drinks. The bar service was unusually slow but that didn’t stop us from having a great evening! We grabbed a midnight snack (literally) at Sorrento's Pizza before calling it a night around 12:30AM.

Our first towel animal of the cruise!

Once again, it was a GREAT anniversary spent at Sea and we enjoyed every minute of it! I love you Chris Davis.
Happy Anniversary!

A recap of our Anniversary Sea Day!
