Feeling Hot, Hot, HOT
Caribbean Sea
Sea Day #2
We woke up around 7:30AM and got ready to get to breakfast
in the Main Dining Room. This is where we prefer to eat breakfast on board but
we had been sleeping in most of the cruise and missed it. TIP- The MDR is open
on ALL days of the cruise but is only open for 90 minutes at a time and is
usually early in the morning (7AMish). They offer made-to-order items like omelets,
pancakes and eggs plus daily specials. They also have a cereal bar in the
middle of the dining room and this time there was a made to order waffle
station and hot egg station in the center as well. With the new additions of
already cooked eggs, it is a great and fairly quick option for more of a
comfort breakfast and not rushed from the buffet. Be sure to check the Cruise
Compass for opening times.
After breakfast Chris was still tired so he went and took a
nap while I explored the ship and took some videos. It was a typical sea day on
board and there were LOTS of chairs with towels and personal belongings on
them. Not very many people were in the chairs but the chairs were taken, especially
in the Solarium and the Main Pool area on Deck 11. It was a chair hog type of situation. I did see crew members coming to put notes on the chairs throughout the morning.
A love the Helicopter Pad on Royal Caribbean ships!
I met back up with Chris at Café Promenade to get a coffee.
TIP- Reminder, the specialty coffees at Café Promenade are included in the
Drink package. We knew this but rarely found time for them, despite how great
they tasted.
The Putt-Putt 9 hole mini golf course was supposed to open
at 11AM so we wanted to get there and beat the crowds. We took our coffee to go
and made our way to Deck 13 forward to have our traditional golf game. When we
arrived at 10:50AM it was not only already open but it was jam packed with
people, mainly kids. In fact, we had to wait for clubs and balls.
We had our
competitive game of golf and my teacher voice only came out once (or twice).
Chris won the game by 2 holes but hopefully I can come back and win in June on
the Carnival Dream.
After our golf game it was so hot, we were breaking a real
sweat so we went to the Olive and Twist lounge on deck 14 Mid-Sip to avoid the
sun. As the day was progressing it was getting more and more hot but the chairs
at the main pool area still had personal belongings on them. The Deck 12 area
was completely open and there were LOTS of chairs, they were just all in the
sun.
Afternoon
We had lunch in the Main Dining Room. This was the best menu of the cruise, in
my opinion, and it offered a delicious Seafood Tomato Risotto. We found this
lunch menu on the Serenade of the Seas in 2015 and we always try to seek it out
since then. Once again, our lunch in the MDR was fast and just perfect. So much
better than the Windjammer buffet.
After lunch Chris was not feeling well and started to sneeze
and cough a lot so I sent him back to the room to rest. I laid out on Deck 4
Outdoor Promenade in the shade for nearly 3 hours just resting and reading.
We went back to the room in the late afternoon to get ready
for the evening and Harry Potter Trivia. Despite arriving at On Air (Deck 3)
prior to the start of Harry Potter Trivia, it was jam packed and not even
standing room only. TIP- We have seen this on MOST cruise lines, as it is
always crowded for this trivia. Obviously, in our experience, you need to
arrive close to 30 minutes prior to the start of Harry Potter Trivia in order
to have a good experience… or even a seat. It was so crowded we decide to go to
Boleros instead. We did some bar hopping before formal dinner in the Main
Dining Room.
Evening
Once again, we enjoyed our dinner in the Main Dining Room
with Roy and his staff. The menu featured Lobster and Prime Rib and it did not
disappoint. It was a great meal, the service was fantastic and Roy brought us
more Savory Bites. We were in and out of
the MDR in 1 hour and 17 minutes. That is INCREDIBLY fast, especially for a Formal Night! TRICK- We ate this dinner around 5:30PM but I noticed around 7:30PM it was SUPER busy and crowded with LINES of people waiting to get a table. If you are not picky about dining times, I recommend going EARLY rather than late on Formal Nights.
This was the scene around 7:30PM at the entrance to the Deck 3 My Time Dining Area!

After dinner we enjoyed the sunset from the Deck 4 outside Promenade.
This was our best sunset at sea and we got to watch the entire thing. It was
glorious. TIP- Once again, I highly recommend taking time to watch the sunset
or sunrise. Pictures truly do not do it justice.
Due to the length of the sunset we were late to the Juggler’s
show in the Platinum Theater. We sat at the very top and enjoyed his show very
much! It is amazing what these talented entertainers can do with swords and
balls.
The comedian juggler! He was pretty funny and not lame like most jugglers! (Just sayin)

Chris was still not feeling well so he went back to the room
to rest while I enjoyed an empty Solarium and the swings in this area. I sat
there for over an hour just having a quiet and peaceful time praying to God and
thanking him for all he has done for me. I LOVE doing this on the cruise and I
enjoy these private and personal moments. I grow deeper with God and it is so
uplifting to me.
I then went to Olive and Twist to enjoy a few drinks before
The Quest show. Chris found me and we made our way to Vintages to meet Nate and
Julie. TIP- The Quest is an ALL ADULT scavenger hunt and it SO MUCH FUN! It can
get a little risque but Royal Caribbean does a great job of keeping it as tame
as possible. This particular Quest was awesome because Nate and Julie
participated. Julie was even the Team Captain. Even though our team did not win, Julie
got a medal! It was SO MUCH FUN! TIP- It is usually on the 6th or 7th
night of the cruise (on most Cruise Lines) around 10-11PM. Check it out!
We then went to the R Bar on Deck 5 and got to know our
friends even better. We talked with Nate and Julie for nearly 2 hours before getting our typical
late night snack at Sorrento’s. We went to bed shortly after 1AM and we were
tired.
It was a HOT day aboard the Liberty of the Seas and even
though Chris seemed sick with allergies or a cold of some kind, we still
enjoyed our day!
Only 1 more day on the Liberty of the Seas.
Thank you ALL for following along! I hope these tips and
tricks help some of you plan your next cruise.
