Triumphant Thanksgiving...The Carnival Triumph 2015

Thanksgiving Cruise 2015
Carnival Triumph
Thanksgiving Spent on the High Seas

Disclaimer
In November 2015 Chris and I took our kids on a Western Caribbean Cruise aboard the Carnival Triumph sailing out of Galveston, TX. We also sailed with my parents, Gigi Shirley and Poppy, as well as my sister, Allison. It was a true family vacation and we were excited to take our kids on their 1st cruise. We even managed to keep the whole thing a surprise until we arrived at the Cruise Terminal in Galveston! This beautiful floating resort took us to the following destination:

Cozumel, Mexico

Chris and I have been on 5 other cruises prior to this one; 3 with Carnival and 2 with Royal Caribbean. This cruise was all about the kids and showing them what it was like to cruise, Lord knows we have talked about it enough!  This will be a multiple entry blog about not only our 4 days at sea but a food blog (Revamped style) from each of our perspectives, an updated Shore Excursion rating blog, a pictorial review of The Carnival Triumph and a few more. Thank you SO MUCH to all my followers... without you the blog would not be as popular as it is today!

Our home away from home for the next 4 days!

Triumphant Thanksgiving... Camp Ocean

Camp Ocean aboard The Carnival Triumph

We sailed on The Carnival Triumph on Thanksgiving Day 2015 on a 4 day cruise  (November 26-30, 2015) sailing out of Galveston, TX. This was the first time we took our kids with us on a cruise so we were new to the Camp Ocean experience.

Once on board we went and finalized our registration after having checked the kids in via our online check-in prior to embarkation. We also added my parents and sisters as people who could drop off and pick up. Going to Camp Ocean in the early part of the afternoon was very beneficial as we already had all of the information filled out when it was time for the 1st activity.

Overall, our kids did not like the Camp Ocean experience as much as we had hoped they would. My 3 year old is very particular with his babysitters and we expected him to be a little shy in the whole process. However, he just did not like it all. It kept telling us it was loud and dark. Both of which were true. The Triumph has the Penguins (2-5 year old) on Deck 11 in the far forward and it is very small and crowded. Luke just does not like to be crowded or confined so this made sense to us.

Natalie, our 6 year old. also did not like the program as much as we expected. She is very social and easy going so we expected her to make friends and do real well. She like it the 1st night when they had the welcome aboard activities but when we took her back the following day she only lasted 1.5 hours before the program called us on the cell phone they gave us to let us know she wanted to "be with us". The Sting Rays (6-8 year old) had lots of activities that we thought the she would like but every time we asked her she would always say she was bored. And the few times she went she always came back with coloring sheets, which I agree can be boring.

She did attended the Farewell Selfie Party and T-Shirt design on the last night and she LOVED it! Perhaps more fun activities like this would help kids like ours appreciate the program more. Of course, this was the kids 1st cruise AND we were traveling with grandparents and an aunt so she honestly did just want to be with us.

Penguins (2-5) Schedule

The Sting Rays (6-8 year old) Schedule

I think it is great that cruise lines are offering services like this to their guests and I think overall Carnival has done a great job planning activities and each worker I met seemed to be nice enough to leave my kids with. We did come in at the beginning of a new crew so I could tell there were issues and questions among the workers but that is to be expected!

We have another cruise booked with the kids for December 2016 and we are hoping BOTH of them spend a little more time in Camp Ocean! I attached the program schedule for both the Penguins and the Sting Rays so you can see what they offer! I hope this helps for anyone traveling with little ones!

Triumphant Thanksgiving... Sea Day #2

Meet "The Cruisers"... The New Addicts in the Family

Sunday, November 29, 2015

Morning- Time for some Fun

Everyone slept much better and was already feeling the improvement of the swaying of the ship. Allie felt much better and was herself again and now completely enjoying the cruise. We were up and ready in our matching Thing 1 and Thing 2 shirts, Cat in the Hat hats and Crazy Blue hair by 8:00AM for our Dr. Seuss Character Breakfast in the London Dining Room. We had an 8:30AM reservation and left a little early to take pictures.

My very own Thing 1 and Thing 2.

The original Thing 1 and Thing 2!

Gigi Shirley and Poppy as Thing 1 and Thing 2!

Once we got in the dining room the Maitre D' did not have us as a complete group and did not have a table large enough for 7 so we had to have a boy table and a girl table. I was frustrated at first but it turned out to be a good thing as we were placed on the main isle and we could see the characters much better. These reservations become open on Embarkation day and there is usually a table set up with a staff member on the entrance to the Lido Deck on Deck 9. Be sure to let them know if you have a large party and would like to sit together. It is an additional cost of $5 per person but it is worth it in my opinion. The food is fabulous and themed with Dr. Seuss and the kids (and adults) just LOVE it!

The Boy Table!

The Girl Table!

My Thing 1... she loved the blue wig!

My lovely family of FOUR! Love them all so much!

The kids immediately got excited and acting silly. Daddy told them that this was the time to act wild and crazy and of course, this is the one time they actually listened. We sat down and ordered and each got a unique and special item off the specialized menu. Natalie ordered the Cat in the Hat pancakes and Luke ordered the Green Eggs and Ham. Both of the kids had a great time filling out the Dr. Seuss booklet that was provided.

This face is PRICELESS!

Luke was not quite sure about the Green Eggs and Ham!

Once the food was served and we all had a chance to eat, the characters from the Dr. Seuss books all came out one by one for pictures. This was special as they also gave the kids their "Autograph" with a stamp. Natalie LOVED this so much and still says it was her favorite part of the cruise.

Love this one! Luke was a little unsure!

Poor Luke had to sit this one out!

Davis-Klingsick group with The Cat in the Hat and Sam I Am!
This was SO MUCH FUN!

Towards the end of the character meet and greet Luke got excited and knocked over one of the large Cat in the Hat displays and broke off it's tail and a piece of it's neck. I thought we would make it through the whole cruise without an accident of this type but... NOPE! Luke got in trouble and Poppy explained to the wait staff our apologies and offered to pay for any damages. I too went back to the Maitre D' and expressed my apologies later that afternoon. Luckily the display was made of Styrofoam so it was not a big deal but the wait staff was very nice and understanding. I tip my hat to them as they were the best group of waiters and hostesses we had seen all cruise and very professional.

After breakfast Gigi took Natalie "shopping" on the ship at the FunShops since Natalie didn't want to stay in Cozumel the day before. Gigi was so sweet as she got Natalie a stuffed bear we named Triumph and Luke a shark we rightfully named Kirk! We also were able to get some itinerary T-shirts as they went on sale at 10:00AM and despite this sale being on Sunday I did get to experience a BLACK FRIDAY type of shopping as the people went crazy as the worker unveiled the tables of $10 shirts. This made me laugh as I thought I would avoid all of that madness this year!

Then we went to a much anticipated event of Towel Animal folding and making demonstration. Allie and Luke even went up on stage to get a more personalized experience. Chris and I sat in the audience and we all made an elephant and a cute little dog. Both of the kids enjoyed this but lost interest as the steps got more complicated. I would recommend this for older kids of 10-16 as the folding process is detail and tricky, but a LOT of fun!

Towel Folding demonstration!

Love this face!

They made an elephant!

We then stayed for the Towel Animal Theater (puppet show) which was adorable. The towels came to life and did singing and dancing and even some jokes: "For the love of fabric softener" was my favorite. It was a very cute show and I would recommend it for all ages!

We then split up and decided to walk around the ship with Luke as my parents did their own thing. Chris decided to go to a Fact or Fiction trivia and I met up with my family to play mini-golf with the kids. This time the course was packed with kids and a few families. We all took turns playing and while Luke got frustrated at first, once I told him to putt the ball in the hole he would simply pick it up and take it to the hole and he was fine. I really enjoyed this time with my family as I watched us all have fun. I would recommend you go to the mini golf earlier in the cruise before people know it is there to have less crowds. It was so crowded we all had to share 2 clubs and 2 balls which was a little annoying.

Daddy and his kiddos!

Love my beautiful family!

Luke wanted to DRIVE the golf ball... not putt it!

Poppy was showing off his super golf skills!

He got better as the game progressed!

Afternoon- Tea and Trivia
We all wanted to go to the 12:30PM movie trivia so we grabbed the kids a sandwich at the deli on the way to the Casino Bar on Deck 5 where most of the trivia games were held. This helped hold them over until after the trivia when we all had lunch. I was able to get my last Guy's Burger and it was the best of the entire cruise. We also got some tacos to split from Blue Iguana and Natalie discovered she LOVED these tacos and ate them all.  The Triumph was offering a Chocolate Extravaganza Buffet from 12-2PM in the aft buffet and we were even able to sample so specialty chocolate offerings. We had to wait in a VERY long line of 200-400 people so I would highly recommend getting their early if this is your type of thing.

We saw the Carnival Freedom passing us as they left Galveston on the previous day for the Western Caribbean! So cool to pass a ship like this! Maybe we will be on the Freedom soon... who knows!

After lunch we went to the main pool deck nearby to dance and groove at Groove for St. Jude. This is a deck party where you can sing and dance as you donate to St. Jude Research Hospital. If you donate $10 you get a shirt and a bracelet. Our cruise director challenged the ship that if 300 of the 3,500 guest would donate $10 he would donate $100 of his own and there ended up being 457 people donate. It is all profit for St. Judes and I love that Carnival is helping by donating the shirts and bracelets. We love this and so did the kids. They were able to dance in the warm hot sun and they loved the songs. Even now they are singing "Celebrate good times c'mon".

Groove for St. Jude

After this Chris was tired so wanted to nap and we would meet up at the Love and Marriage Gameshow at 2:15PM. Unfortunately, I was never able to meet up with Chris as we just missed each other in the theater but I was able to sit out on the promenade deck with the kids in the glowing sun as they gave us a "presentation" of our day in Cozumel. The kids ran up and down the promenade decks and got brochures of shore excursions and told us all about them!

It was now time for FRIENDS trivia and we all did very well. It just so happened that is was almost identical to the FRIENDS Trivia on The Magic so I wanted Allie to win. She was very close but spelled one name wrong which meant she was 19/20 and someone else won. Chris tried to talk the entertainment staff into giving her a medal but they didn't have any.

Time for an afternoon snack of grilled cheese and pickles!

Then we hurried off to Tea Time since it ran until 4PM. We were late at 3:40PM but I asked the servers for fresh desserts and they were nice enough to go and find us some. Luke LOVED this so much and chose his own tea and did an amazing job! Again, you really need to check this out in the aft dining room of most ships at 3PM on sea days!

My parents wanted to walk around and see the wake again so we all headed up to deck 10. The kids wanted to jog around the track so myfamily took our kids so we could enjoy 15-20 minutes of peacefulness. This is Chris and I's absolute favorite part of ANY ship so this was a blessing to us for sure. The kids raced Gigi and Poppy nearly 8 times around this jogging track and then asked to race daddy. The jogging track on The Triumph is 11 laps for each mile which is fairly small even for a cruise ship! Natalie and Luke both won and we were all sweaty. It was time to go back to the room and get ready for dinner.

Chris and my view for 20 minutes... It was pure bliss!

Natalie and Luke loved the wake too!

Time for a race with Poppy!

Time for dinner!

Look at that face... He is in a GOOD mood!

Evening- "No Soup for You"
The classic Seinfeld quote of "no soup for you" proved to be true for me as the evening did not go as I had hoped or planned. We went to the Taste Bar early so Chris could play the NFL trivia and we tried out another $5 drink. The Taste Bar offers these $5 drinks from 5:30-8:30PM each night and they are a steal. Be sure to check them out! Chris did well in the NFL trivia but did not win. The Taste Bar was offering Red Frog Pub food and it was delicious! Red Frog Pub is not available on The Triumph but on other ships such as The Magic and The Breeze. It has a la carte items and is very tasty especially for an afternoon or late night snack.

We went to dinner and got another long rectangle table and we were crowded. Luke was in high spirits but as the meal progressed he had to use the potty, for what turned out to be multiple times. As they were bringing out the main entrees he had to go so I took him. By the time I got back to my meal it was cold, which was a shame as the Tiger Shrimp Creole was easily the best entree I had on the cruise. Then as soon as we ordered dessert Natalie had to go and I decided we would take her to Camp Ocean for the farewell party and t-shirt painting she wanted to go to. It took a lot longer than I thought and I ended up missing the dessert. Luckily Chris took it to the room but my last meal on board was not as good as I would have hoped! But sometimes, you just HAVE to play the mom card and that time was NOW! I love my babies and I would not change it for the world!

After I finished eating my dessert on my bed Luke asked to go to the Dive in Movies so we changed clothes and went and got a seat as sometimes the deck chairs are hard to come by. As a GOLD Carnival cruiser we also got a label pin, 1/2 liter bottle of water and a FREE DRINK coupon. We used this coupon as we watched the movie with Luke.

The movie was the Minions which we had never seen and Luke chowed down on his popcorn as he was all wrapped up in the blankets we checked out from the towel bar. At 9:45PM I had to go and pick up Natalie from her party and she had a BLAST. She decorated her own shirt and it was adorable. I went back out to the movie and Luke had finished his popcorn and was asking for more. Of course, I said no and within minutes he was asleep. We looked for my family who went to the main show and was going to meet us but never saw them so we went back to our room. It turns out that the main show Wonderful World was about 1:20 long. Plan accordingly, as my family still had to pack their suitcases and place them outside their door by 11:00PM and the show was not over until nearly 10:30PM (started at 9:00PM).

At the very last minute I bought some pictures and then I too headed back to the room for bed. We were doing self assist debarking so I had not packed anything. If you have very little luggage, I would advise you to do self assist as it is a LOT easier than going with your zone to debark the ship and then find your luggage. Plus you do not have to pack the night before and have it out by 11PM. In my opinion, that really cramps your style on the last night of the cruise.

It was the BEST day of the cruise so far and the kids were loving EVERY minute of it... Too bad tomorrow it is all over. This day would turn my kids into cruise lovers and addicts! All 7 of us had a GREAT day and its hard to believe the cruise is over in just a few hours!

Tomorrow it is back to the reality (Especially since Chris had to be back at work by 11:00AM). Thank you Lord for the blessings of this cruise and the tremendous time we all had! Just 13 months until we embark with our kids again! And believe me... they are already counting down the time!

Triumphant Thanksgiving... Sea Day #1

Watch us Sway, Sway
Friday, November 27, 2015

Morning- Time to Eat
It proved to be a long night as the wind and rocky seas made it very difficult to sleep. At this time the 2 bottom beds were combined as a King size bed under 1 of the upper bunks. This meant that Chris and I were sleeping parallel to the ship and were swaying left and right all night. I usually like a slight back and forth motion but this was too much. Neither Chris nor I slept very well that night BUT nobody in our cabin got sick, which I cannot say the same for my parent's cabin as Allie got sick in the middle of the night and had to have their room cleaned at 3:00AM. Thank you Lord that my babies were immune to the swaying and did not get sick.

I did ask the room steward to change our beds around if possible so the 4 beds created an L shape in the room. This would give us a lot more space and would help with the swaying as 2 of the beds would be perpendicular to the ship and not parallel. That means that your body would be swaying front to back and not side to side which helps with nausea and sea-sickness. If you or someone in your cabin gets sick easily I would recommend switching the direction of the beds. This can be done on a balcony cabin as well and helped my sister a lot!

I finally had enough of the swaying and got up to go and get breakfast and enjoy the early morning sunlight. I was too late for the sunrise but the ship was still fairly empty and I was able to enjoy some time to myself before the kids woke up. I went ahead and got a Blue Iguana Breakfast burrito as it was a favorite of mine from our Carnival Conquest 2013 cruise. Once again, those breakfast burritos lived up to their hype in my head and I had a fabulous hand crafted burrito for an early morning snack. I then went to the back of the Lido Deck for viewing the aft while I enjoyed a morning cup of coffee. It was a peaceful and quiet moment where I was able to have my quiet time and praise God for His gorgeous creation. It was quiet possibly the best 20 minutes of the entire cruise and was so peaceful! This is an area of the ship you HAVE to check out at some point! Deck 9 in the very aft of the ship.

My view for breakfast... even with the ship swaying like crazy, this was magical!

Had to get my morning wake time in and it was GLORIOUS!

I headed back towards the room and saw Chris getting ready to go jogging. The kids were still asleep so I rushed back to the room before they woke up. I got there and got them ready for the day and we went right back up to the Lido Aft for them to eat their own morning snack of Lucky Charms. My poor kids eat so well during the week and their life at home that something as simple as Lucky Charms was impressive to them! Sad but true!

Breakfast time on the aft! What a beauty!

Luke enjoying those Lucky Charms!

We headed back to Gigi's room to check on Allie before heading out to explore more of the ship. The kids loved walking on the open decks on 9 & 10 but were not fans of the wind so we stayed inside looking at our pictures. Then we all headed to Brunch around 9:30AM. This was a great meal and we were at the very aft of the ship in the Paris dining room. I love that the Sea Day Brunch is open from 9Am to 1PM so practically EVERYONE has an opportunity for a nice meal in the early part of day! However, this was directly above the engines and the wind and high tide was still posing a problem so Allie was still not feeling well and she did not enjoy it so much. In fact, she had to leave the table early because she was so sick.

Natalie enjoyed viewing the wake while we were at brunch.

Chris decided to take Natalie to the Camp Ocean for some morning activities she had wanted to do at 10:00AM and I waited with Poppy to get Gigi's dessert to take back to the room. We dumped the desserts in the room and then started to try to find Gigi and Allie. It took us 40 minutes of worrying about poor Allie and wandering around the ship but we found them in the comfy chairs of the lobby. If you are traveling with a large group, I would recommend bringing walkie-talkies to help with communication!

I then decided to go and find Chris and Luke who were walking around the Lido Deck. Around 11:15AM our cell phone rang and it was Camp Ocean calling to say Natalie wanted to "be with us" and was not feeling well. I immediately got nervous thinking she too was sick. We went and got her and it turns out that there were lots of kids in there feeling the swaying motion of the ship and as a teacher I know that once 1 kid says they don't feel well... they all say it! Nevertheless we got Natalie and decided to go and lay out on Deck 10 and watch the wake of the ship. Natalie and Luke loved the "bubbles" as they called them and laying out on the deck chairs but eventually Luke got cold and hungry so we went to get lunch for us all. Once again Guy's and Blue Iguana did NOT disappoint. I did stand in a 20-30 minute long line for pizza at the Pizza Pirate and once again... it was terrible. Carnival does NOT DO PIZZA WELL!

Luke said no to pizza but ate all of his cheeseburger.

Auntie Allie and Natalie lounging around the aft pool.

Afternoon- Dr. Seuss is on the Loose
We knew the kids would love the Dr. Seuss parade so we made it a point to do this fun event for our kids. Luke had thrown a major Three Year Old fit during lunch and had to be taken to the room with daddy but he did make it back just in time for the parade. This was a great time of singing and cheering and parading from the very back of the ship to the forward of the ship for the Dr. Seuss Story-time. We were cheering "Dr. Seuss is on the Loose" the whole time while we followed the characters to the Rome Lounge. If you have young kids, be sure to check this event out on the 1st Sea Day! It was lots and lots of FUN for all of us!

Little Miss is ready for the parade.

Natalie and I in the Comedy Club waiting for the parade to start.

Luke came back and we got to carry the Sam I Am sign!

And Natalie carried the Horton hears a Hoo sign too!

Climbing down the stairs to get to the Rome Lounge where story time was held.

Once again, Chris wanted to have fun and show the kids he knew how to do this so he volunteered himself for a small part in the story. He basically had to get the audience involved in the story every 20-30 seconds. It was hilarious and we all enjoyed it. Plus Kirk, the Cruise Director, gave Chris and I a free drink for all of his hard work. This is just a simple reminder... loosen up and have some fun! You're on a CRUISE!

Kirk, the Cruise Director, getting us all ready for the show and looking for a volunteer.

And he found CHRIS! This was hilarious!

Kirk reading the Cat in the Hat during story time.

Natalie had an absolute BLAST!

After the parade we wanted to all chill out so we went to the Atrium Lobby where they had great 80s tunes playing and our kids just danced and danced. It was adorable and we all had a great laugh watching them dance up and down the lobby halls!

The face says it all... He was having a GREAT time!

Crazy and Fun Gigi having fun with her grand-kids! Love this!

Then it was time for Tea Time. This was held in the Paris Dining Room (the aft MDR) at 3PM on Sea Days. They have fine table linens and hot tea as well as fabulous desserts that are only offered at Tea Time. If you go on any Carnival ship be sure to take 30 minutes out of your sea day to check this out. It will be worth it... trust me! This went incredibly well considering we had a 6 year old and a 3 year old. They both loved steeping their tea and sipping on it with a macaroon in their hands. In fact, their behavior and liking of this event is quite possibly the biggest surprise of the whole cruise.

Natalie is ready for High Tea with the Queen!

Luke has a way to go but he loves steeping the tea!

We all were tired and it was too windy to enjoy the upper decks so we tried to go to the room and take a nap but the silence lasted about 10 minutes. We decided to go down to the World's Way area a little early and enjoy some live music. However, Mr. Luke did not want to wear his formal wear (It's OK,... daddy didn't want to either) and his 2nd fit of the day came right before we were supposed to meet the Captain. Chris got him to put his shirt and vest on but he just threw an even bigger fit. He was so tired and THREE years old so it is expected. He did straighten out with a small spanking and we were able to continue with our plans.

Evening- No Pictures Please
We went ahead and went down to Deck 5 on World's Way to take a few family pictures and get in line to meet the Captain, as it is a tradition of ours! We expected a long line but once we found the Captain and his staff by the 5th Deck stairway there was not a line at all. Most of the other times we have met the Captain it has been in a wide open space but The Triumph was in the stairway and easy to miss. We were able to meet the very friendly Captain and his staff as well as Kirk, the Cruise Director. Kirk then took us back to the Casino Bar where he bought Chris and I a drink. The kids even got to share a Sprite. Thank you Kirk! We really liked him and he is at the top of our favorite Cruise Directors... right behind Corey Rodgers from the Conquest 2013.

Our traditional picture with the Captain.
We even managed to get Luke in there without him knowing it!

We tried to take a picture with Kirk but again Luke would have none of that!

The Sprite turned out to be a real issue as Luke spilled it all over his shirt and was very upset as he does not like to be wet. Here came fit #3 of the day. We tried to take a large group picture in front of a Christmas tree but it did not turn out the way would have liked. Poor Luke was crying and throwing a fit the whole time. We had planned on taking multiple pictures that evening but Luke had other plans. We took the one group picture and then I took him back to the room to change clothes. Once he was out of his formal clothes he was much better and we had a very pleasant evening!

Take 1 on our family picture!

Yep... just not happening!

Natalie and I took a great one without the boys!

We tried again with the whole family and it is just didn't work!

We proceeded to the London Main Dining Room for the Cruise's only Formal Night. This is always a busy and exciting night in the MDR and we were looking forward to a new American Feast Menu. Luke was in much better spirits and did fine throughout the 2 hour meal. I guess all he needed was food and casual clothes. Allison was still not feeling 100% at dinner but was getting better.

Luke chowing down on his food in his COMFY clothes!
Gotta be honest, Daddy was jealous!

Time for the 1st dance of the cruise!

And time for some Napkin waving... Again, you're on a cruise!
HAVE FUN!

And Natalie DID... She got up and danced!

We took a few more pictures as a large group with Luke in his Captain America T-shirt and shorts and the rest of us all decked out and honestly... they are GREAT pictures and super cute! We decided we all wanted to relax like Luke so we all went and changed.

Take 2 on a group picture!
He may have a Captain America shirt on but he is smiling!

Love this one!

My parents... So cute!

My girl who loves to pose and smile!

Formal Night!

Sister Picture! Love you Allie!

Due to the swaying and rocking of the ship they had to cancel the Wonderful World dancing show to be held in the main theater, the Rome Lounge, and replaced it with a Comedy Show (PG and Family Friendly). We were excited about his as I really like comedy, especially if it is family friendly. Carnival is very good about getting comedians who can be funny without cursing or talking about inappropriate topics. I highly suggest going to the PG comedy shows. You will get in a few laughs at the very least. We heard 2 comedians, one of whom we heard on The Magic in June 2015, who were funny and joked about how good kids had it these days! Even Natalie laughed a little.

Afterwards Luke wanted to "walk around the ship" as it became his favorite pastime of the 4 days. We tried to walk the Lido deck but it was once again too windy so we decided to come in and get a late night snack in the deli. This deli was easily the best deli we have experienced on any Carnival ship. It is on the Port side of Deck 9 and just hidden enough to not get as noticed as other food venues. The turnaround time of making the sandwiches was very impressive. We, especially the kids, thoroughly enjoyed this dining option. The kids also got an ice cream cone and poor Luke was so tired that he practically fell asleep on the cone.

We decided it was late enough that we could go to bed and once again we were in the room and asleep by 11:30PM. Luke did fall off the bed this evening as he was trying to get comfortable to go to sleep. The rails on the sides of the top beds do not cover the length of the bed so he fell off the head portion but do be advised that little ones can fall off. I would recommend getting extra pillows for that area of the bed to avoid this problem. Luke was fine after some hugs and kisses from mommy but I did notice he slept in the middle of the bed the rest of the trip.

Despite all of the fit throwing, we all had a great day and the kids did remarkably well considering all of the outside activities like the water slide, pools and hot tubs were closed due to the high winds. Tomorrow the kids will get to go to a foreign country for the first time and experience some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. We cannot wait!

Next Up... Cozumel and Mr. Sancho's Beach Club
